From hand to hand: Holiday Greeting Cards from NYPL's  Picture Collection

In December 2024, Saint Agnes founder Molly Cox curated a selection of holiday greeting cards from The New York Public Library’s Picture Collection. Drawn from a collection of more than 3,500 cards, the display featured pieces dating from the 1920s to the 1950s, created by both well-known artists and anonymous senders. Chosen for their distinctive character, the cards highlight personal touches—from hand-drawn caricatures and formal pet portraits to playful inked fingerprints—that reflect the individuality of each sender. The exhibition explored the enduring appeal of physical correspondence and its role in maintaining connection across time and distance.
